Where Did You Come From? Uncovering a Story I Did Not Think Was Worth Telling
My professor told me that everyone has a story about how they got to where they are. But if you are like me and still live in the same city that you were born and raised in, then do you truly have anything interesting to say? I certainly did not think so. When I heard others talk about their reasons for immigration or the dozens of cities they have lived in, I thought about how much more fascinating their lives were compared to mine. Nobody cares to listen to my mundane story about how I have spent the past two decades living in the same town. However, when I took the time to sincerely think about why I am in Ottawa, I peeled back many layers as to how I got here. In doing so, I realized that my story is not mundane at all. In fact, it is quite inspiring. So, for those of you who are like me and believe that you have no story to share, this audio documentary is for you. Journey back in time with me as I unveil how I ended up in Ottawa. This is a story of fate and how a job opportunity, a broken heart, a restored 1969 Camaro, and a Hurley's rooftop led to my existence. If you do not believe my professor, then take it from me: everyone has something to say about how they got to where they are.
